CHARITY & GIVING BACK 

Our mission is to promote sustainability and conscious consumption through circular fashion principles with the buying, selling and hiring of luxury, designer preloved childrens clothing. 

From donating and signing petitions to protesting and raising awareness, there are many ways we support sustainable fashion. We committed to donating 5% of our profits to charity from the day one. 

We donate to sustainable charities that focus on creating lasting solutions rather than providing temporary fixes. This is because they aim to address the root causes of issues, ensuring that communities can continue to thrive independently in the future. This aligns with our mission and corporate values. 

 

To date we have supported the following causes;

  • Educating leaders - Providing the best possible support to communities in need of Education

  • Giving water - Helping those where the need is WATER

  • Children's classroom- Creating the environment and space for children to learn, so they can thrive

  • Sustainable living - Supporting vulnerable families across the globe, providing the best possible support to communities in need of sustainable projects

  • Heal humanity - providing immediate relief to communities affected by disasters and conflicts, but also helping to create sustainable healthcare solutions

Going forward we plan to work in partnership with sustainable fashion organizations that actively work to educate people on the environmental and social issues in the fashion industry, including garment workers’ rights, policy change, and much more. Fast fashion poses a significant challenge to the industry. Over the last 15 years, global clothing production has doubled, leading to increased consumption of low-quality items that are utilized 40% less. At DCK we aim to break away from the outdated and exploitative fast fashion system. By opting for pre-loved items over fast fashion, our community is already making a positive impact on the fashion industry.

FACTS:

 

  • It takes 2,700 litres of water to make one t-shirt - enough for one person to drink for 900 days. 

  • Buying a used garment extends its life by 2.2 years on average, reducing its carbon, waste and water footprint by 73%
